Package: slim Version: 1.3.0-2 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system
After one user has logged out, slim restarts but freezes the computer before the new login screen appears, while typing the username or after having pressed 'login'. The only thing you can do if this happens is switching off the power supply of the computer. SysReq Keys don't work anymore, system logging does not record anything. Caused by this problem I lost data not yet written to the harddrive totally. The error does not occur everytime but often enough to become a severe problem for me. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages slim depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.25 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.3.3-3 GCC support library ii libjpeg62 6b-14 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libpam0g 1.0.1-5 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpng12-0 1.2.27-2 PNG library - runtime ii libstdc++6 4.3.3-3 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.1.5-2 X11 client-side library ii libxft2 2.1.13-3 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxmu6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 miscellaneous utility library Versions of packages slim recommends: ii konsole [x-terminal-emu 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6 X terminal emulator for KDE ii xfce4-terminal [x-termi 0.2.8-5 Xfce terminal emulator ii xterm [x-terminal-emula 241-1 X terminal emulator Versions of packages slim suggests: pn scrot <none> (no description available) -- debconf information: * shared/default-x-display-manager: slim -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
