I have gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg version 0.10.4-3 and you're right, it links against libavcodec51 (and libavformat52 and libavutil49 too). Unfortunately the latest version of libavformat52 links against libavcodec52, so that could be the cause of this bug. If you're right the bug should be resolved as soon as the new version of gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg is pushed to the repos. I'll keep you informed as soon as the update is available.
