The wusel model was hell of a timekiller. Currently I am stumbling upon the epmtools not being big-endian safe, hindering to finalize the things on my usual working machine (powerpc). I am still trying to figure out how the conversion really works, check the differences between the files and stuff. Given that it's quite some files this will take me quite some time, but I wanted to update the bugreport stating that I'm still on it.
