Hello, I can confirm this bug. I'm using Lenny in an amd64 machine. I use the openjdk java implementation ( I don't know if this matters) and have a nvidia with the nouveau drivers ( I doubt this has something to do with this bug).
I just started calc with an empty spreadsheet, selected sheet 2 (or 3) and it crashed. This happens with version -16 too, but with -15 everything works fine. I also noted that just downgrading the package openoffice.org-core to the -15 version is enough to get rid of the bug (you don't need to downgrade the openoffice.org-calc package).
