Hello, and thanks for reporting. It was failing because I passed -c4 to dpkg-gensymbols (by accident) before having the symbol files populated properly. I should have passed -c1 instead. I was also waiting for experimental.ftbfs.de to complete the failed -2 source package on all architectures in order to grab the symbol diffs from buildlogs.
