Package: netatalk Version: 2.0.3-11+lenny1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
*** Please type your report below this line *** I'm sorry to tell you that today's package update made my system unbootable. The problem was with the package netatalk which was starting services at boot time. This resulted in a kernel panic. To repair this I booted the system in a single-user mode and removed netatalk and a few packages recommended by it but which I didn't use. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages netatalk depends on: ii libc6 2.7-16 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcomerr2 1.41.3-1 common error description library ii libcups2 1.3.8-1lenny4 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libdb4.6 4.6.21-11 Berkeley v4.6 Database Libraries [ ii libgnutls26 2.4.2-4 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii libkrb53 1.6.dfsg.4~beta1-5 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libpam-modules 1.0.1-4+b1 Pluggable Authentication Modules f ii libpam0g 1.0.1-4+b1 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libwrap0 7.6.q-16 Wietse Venema's TCP wrappers libra ii netbase 4.34 Basic TCP/IP networking system ii perl 5.10.0-19 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime Versions of packages netatalk recommends: pn db4.2-util <none> (no description available) ii lsof 4.78.dfsg.1-4 List open files ii procps 1:3.2.7-9 /proc file system utilities pn rc <none> (no description available) Versions of packages netatalk suggests: pn quota <none> (no description available) pn tetex-bin <none> (no description available) pn timeout <none> (no description available)
