Hi Marc,

This is very strange.  Can you run these commands on the buildd in the
unpacked source tree and tell me what you get:

cat testsrc/testdata/quux | grep oo | wc -l

cat testsrc/testdata/quux | grep oo | wc -l | od

On my system, I get:

14

for the first, and:

0000000 032061 000012
0000003

for the second, which is what the system expects.

The tests pass on my system.
