Package: php5-memcache Version: 2.0.1-1.1 Severity: serious Justification: 8
Rico Secada wrote the list with this problem: http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2008/11/msg02289.html I have tested the issue and aparenty php5-memcache fails to use compression on 64bit systems. I have tested this on three different machines. One machine was 32bit having no problems, the other two machines where 64bit machines. When the MEMCACHE_COMPRESSED flag is used during the set() function not only does the compression fail, but memcache fails to store the data. The failure results in no errors or warnings what so ever. I consider this a serious issue because if someone has the MEMCACHE_COMPRESSED flag set on a 64bit system, memcache will not work. I have not been able to submit a patch, but it seems the issue is also addressed here: http://74.125.77.132/search?q=cache:y2xHxeXU7bUJ:mlblog.osdir.com/php. \ pecl.cvs/2006-05/msg00109.shtml+php+memcache+z_ok&hl=da&ct=clnk&cd=6&client=iceweasel-a -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-6-amd64 Locale: LANG=da_DK.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE= (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages php5-memcache depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.11etch2 Debian configuration management sy ii libapache2-mod-php5 [phpa 5.2.0-8+etch13 server-side, HTML-embedded scripti ii php5-common 5.2.0-8+etch13 Common files for packages built fr php5-memcache recommends no packages. -- debconf information: php5-memcache/edit_phpini: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
