Package: googleearth-package
Version: 0.5.4
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
At first, there were "dpkg-shlibdeps: failure" messages because it
couldn't find libQt3Support.so.4. Installing libqt4-qt3support solved
that problem.
Even then, there were a slew of warnings with three different forms:
dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: symbol exp used by
.../usr/lib/googleearth/libtiff.so.3 found in none of the libraries.
dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: couldn't find library libbase.so needed by
.../usr/lib/googleearth/googleearth-bin (its RPATH is '').
dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: dependency on libXi.so.6 could be avoided if
"../usr/lib/googleearth/plugins/imageformats/libqgif.so" were not
uselessly linked against it (they use none of its symbols).
This all *might* be related to bug #478785.

When I create a Debian package via googleearth-package, version 4.3.7284.3916
(newer than the bug reporter's 4.3.7204.836) is now fetched.
This version works for me. I receive no errors when creating the Debian package.
I also do not notice any slow starts or crashes on exit.
Regards,
Samat
