A newer driver (or at least a patch) is needed to make it work with 2.6.24. The newer drivers in lenny/sid work, but of course they aren't compatible with the x server in etch anymore due to a library issue where the old xserver required the nvidia driver to provide a library, while the new xserver required the nvidia driver to NOT provide that library. In both cases doing the other thing breaks X. I just hope lenny gets released soon. This has gotten annoying. :) There are instructions somewhere about how to take the source package for the nvidia drivers from sid, add a few lines to the debian/rules files to re add the library needed by etch, and compiling the package. I forget if they were on the amd64 mailing list or in the BTS. -- Len Sorensen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
