Package: tremulous
Version: 1.1.0
Severity: normal
I didn't know whether to report this but in good conscience I couldn't
let it go.
Ok. I've been playing tremulous for well over a year and am very
familar with the game.
Recently my partner has forced me to watch all the Harry Potter movies
as I'd never seen them.
During one of the movies, a noise lept out of the soundtrack from the
Prisoner of Azkaban from tremulous! I discounted this at first,
considering that it must be just a 'free' sound that the movie
producers, and tremulous producers, decided to use.
After the film I considered that this was most likely very improbably
and it was more likely that the sound of the marauder dying in tremulous
was stolen from the Prisoner of Azkaban.
To this end I set out to find some evidence for this. I finally found
it,
http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=5469.msg81966#msg81966
So there you have it. Although tremulous is in the non-free section,
something needs to be done about this particular sound (marauder dying
sound) so that we don't blatently distribute presumably copyrighted
material from hollywood in Debian.
