1) I can reproduce this problem on my desktop computer which runs Lenny with all latest updates.
But.. 2) I have also a laptop which I have upgraded from Etch to Lenny. I have not used that laptop much in several months. I have also not installed updates to it in long time. That laptop has gdebi version 0.1.6 installed which is the same version as which is in Etch. gdebi 0.1.6 works just fine on my another desktop computer which runs Etch. I have not seen any problems at all. That same 0.1.6 fails on my laptop running Lenny. It fails to install eg. that anki package mentioned in the start of this thread. it also seems to fail to install other packages i have tried. I'm not sure, but if I remember correctly gdebi 0.1.6 did work on that laptop too. I have installed some packages using it. So I'm not sure if this is a problem in gdebi itself or eg. in one of it's python dependencies. This information is from my desktop computer running Lenny with all latest updates installed.
