> This bug is *not* present in 1.3.8-1lenny1. Brandon, you need to > open a separate bug report for whatever your unrelated issue is. That doesn't even make any sense. If I were to open a separate bug report, it would just say the exact same thing that this one does. If I had an unrelated issue, I would have opened a report for it. Here is an exerpt from my system: As root: ALPHA:~# dpkg -l | grep cups ii cups 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - server ii cups-bsd 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - BSD comman ii cups-client 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - client pro ii cups-common 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - common fil ii libcups2 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - libs ii libcupsimage2 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - image libs ii libcupsys2 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System (transitional pa ii libgnomecups1.0-1 0.2.3-2 GNOME library for CUPS interaction ALPHA:~# /usr/sbin/cupsd -f -- end And then, in a user terminal: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lpstat [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lpstat lpstat: Unable to connect to server -- end Note that the first one works, but the second one fails. Hence the title of the bug, "... exits after serving one request." Here is the root terminal after cups crashes (after the first lpstat): ALPHA:~# dpkg -l | grep cups ii cups 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - server ii cups-bsd 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - BSD comman ii cups-client 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - client pro ii cups-common 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - common fil ii libcups2 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - libs ii libcupsimage2 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - image libs ii libcupsys2 1.3.8-1lenny1 Common UNIX Printing System (transitional pa ii libgnomecups1.0-1 0.2.3-2 GNOME library for CUPS interaction ALPHA:~# /usr/sbin/cupsd -f /usr/sbin/cupsd: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/cupsd: undefined symbol: _httpEncodeURI ALPHA:~# echo $? 127 As I noted before, I have purged all of my cups packages, removed everything cups related from /etc/, and then re-installed. This bug is still there. I would be happy to help any way I can. core dumps, trace files, backtraces, any tests you might want me to run. Just ask. I must say though, that I am becoming somewhat frustrated from repeatedly re-opening this bug. -Brandon
