With 1:1.7.2, the plugin in the alternative is a 32-bit plugin. On amd64, Iceweasel is 64-bit, and you can't dlopen(3) a 32-bit plugin. With 1:1.7.1+1.6.3, /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/flash-mozilla.so is a 32-bit plugin, but that doesn't matter, since npwrapper.libflashplayer.so is 64-bit. The latter isn't present with 1:1.7.2. See below for an installation with 1:1.7.1+1.6.3.
