Shipping binary-only copies of libraries violates §2 of the Debian Free Software Guidelines [0]. Also, binary-only distribution makes security support impossible. Thus I am filing a Serious bug. The named files appear to serve no useful purpose [1] [2]. The source tarball needs to be stripped (DFSGed).
