Hi guys!

I'm the maintainer of swfdec-mozila which has recently received this bug:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=493307

The thing is that if you install swfdec-mozilla (which happens when you
install for example gnome, which depends on it) you cannot use any of the
other packages providing a flash plugin for mozilla derivatives.

I've been talking to Miriam (who maintains the gnash plugin) and she has
sugested to use alternatives for this, like having
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/mozilla-flash.so linked to
/etc/alternatives/mozilla-flash.so or something similar, and have our
plugins installed out of /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins.

The name doesn't have to be this one, it could be any other.

Would this scheme pose any problem with any of your packages?

Do you have any other idea to solve this problem?

Regards...
