Marco, First, no need to sound so 'short'. I was merely pointing out something that 'broke' my system today. The only thing I did yesterday was do an update && upgrade. Udev got upgraded too. $ ls -ld /usr/share/doc/udev drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 2008-08-02 16:57 /usr/share/doc/udev This morning, when booting my pc, I see a bunch of errors from processes wanting to start, and half my hardware devices are missing in action. I check, see no udev running. Try to start it with /etc/init.d/udev start, doesn't start. (doesn't do anything, for that matter) I find this bug report, edit /etc/init.d/udev, remove the -e, start it again and it takes off immediately. I checked the udev init script delivered with the package, and the constructs mentioned as being problematic in this bug report are still present. If it's not this, then what is causing this? Because udev ain't running the way it's packaged, here. -- Kansas City <--> Satanic sky -- anagrama -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
