Yeah, sorry, my mistake. As I said in my followup, the preferences window problem is actually gone. That leaves me with this not-very-meaningful backtrace of the crash that happens with nearly every web page: #0 0xb6ca3133 in ?? () from /usr/lib/libpangoft2-1.0.so.0 No symbol table info available. #1 0xb1be7520 in ?? () No symbol table info available. #2 0x0000ffff in ?? () No symbol table info available. #3 0x00000000 in ?? () No symbol table info available. (In my first mail, I only pasted the first frame.) And when I move ~/.firefox away (which I thought could help the situation), iceweasel refuses to start, but doesn't exactly crash.
