Package: axiom Version: 20050901-10 Followup-For: Bug #475170 This is caused by poor interaction between gcl and Debian's 2.6.25 kernel. Axiom should be recompiled using a gcl that has bug #487435 fixed. In the meantime, you can start axiom using the command: setarch x86_64 -R axiom
