Package: nut-usb Version: 2.0.4-4 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Using "driver = newhidups" with an "APC Smart UPS 750" causes the following problems (tested on two different machines running Debian Etch: - The driver doesn't connect to the UPS on system startup, I have to wait and restart /etc/init.d/nut manually. - The connection suddenly gets lost without any event. - Everytime the UPS goes on battery, the driver disconnects and performs a forced shutdown. (A test installation of nut-usb Version: 2.2.1-2.1ubuntu7.1 on Ubuntu 8.04 works without problems.) -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-5-k7 Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages nut-usb depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13etch5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-5 userspace USB programming library ii nut 2.0.4-4 The core system of the nut - Netwo ii udev 0.105-4 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo nut-usb recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
