PulseAudio worked for me perfectly . But that all changed about two days ago . It stopped working completely . The daemon starts successfully but I think the problem is in the output sink . Although I don't think that's related , If you are interested in the device details the lspci output is : 00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02) I'm not an expert in pulseaudio commands or files so I will post 2 screenshots from the pulseaudio manager for the 'devices' and 'modules' . http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/7041/devicesxl9.png http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/9964/modulesek8.png --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-2-686 Debian Release: lenny/sid 500 unstable zekr.org 500 unstable ftp.ch.debian.org 500 unstable debian.netcologne.de 500 unstable deb.opera.com 500 testing security.debian.org 500 testing ftp.pl.debian.org 500 kernel-dists-trunk kernel-archive.buildserver.net 500 kernel-dists-sid kernel-archive.buildserver.net 1 experimental ftp.pl.debian.org --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ===============================-+-============= libasound2 (>> 1.0.16) | 1.0.16-2 libasyncns0 | 0.3-1 libc6 (>= 2.7-1) | 2.7-12 libcap1 | 1:1.10-14 libdbus-1-3 (>= 1.0.2) | 1.2.1-2 libflac8 | 1.2.1-1.2 libltdl3 (>= 1.5.2-2) | 1.5.26-4 libogg0 (>= 1.0rc3) | 1.1.3-4 liboil0.3 (>= 0.3.1) | 0.3.14-5 libpulsecore5 | 0.9.10-2 libsamplerate0 | 0.1.3-1 libsndfile1 | 1.0.17-4 libwrap0 (>= 7.6-4~) | 7.6.q-15 adduser | 3.108 lsb-base (>= 3) | 3.2-12
