I tried this in the sid chroot on merulo, and wasn't able to reproduce the problem.
I had a similar problem with another package, what I did was to change the install/binary-arch rules target so that it failed if the binary was not available. That way you know earlier that there is a buildd problem and do not upload empty debs. -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
