$ dpkg -S /usr/sbin/amrestore amanda-client: /usr/sbin/amrestore $ dpkg -l amanda-client ii amanda-client 1:2.5.2p1-3 So... I guess that installing amanda-client should solve your problem. It may be a regression with previous packages, but nothing grave at stake here, I guess.
