Package: openvpn
Severity: grave
When I'm connecting to my OpenVPN server using networkmanager-openvpn, my
local SSL key is checked using openssl-vulnkey. However, for some reason
this does not succeed, rendering my OpenVPN connection totally useless.
Relevant log snippets:
nm-openvpn[4123]: OpenVPN 2.1_rc7 i486-pc-linux-gnu [SSL] [LZO2] [EPOLL]
built on May 18 2008
nm-openvpn[4123]: /usr/sbin/openssl-vulnkey -q
/path/to/my/local/client/cert.key
NetworkManager: <WARN> nm_vpn_service_process_signal(): VPN failed for
service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn', signal 'ConnectFailed', with
message 'The VPN login failed because the VPN program could not connect to the
VPN server.'.
NetworkManager: <info> VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn'
signaled state change 3 -> 5.
NetworkManager: <WARN> nm_vpn_service_stop_connection(): (VPN Service
org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn): could not stop connection '<HIDDEN>'
because service was 5.
Note that my client certificate is password-protected. When running
openssl-vulnkey on the file manually, it asks for the password. The logs
above seem to suggest openssl-vulnkey is executed on the password-protected
key (and waiting for input it never gets).
mvrgr, Wouter
