The new nano package depends on libncursesw5, which is not installed
as a base package by debootstrap. Consequently, the new dependency 
of nano on libncursesw5 breaks debootstrap in sid:

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of nano:
 nano depends on libncursesw5 (>= 5.4-1); however:
  Package libncursesw5 is not installed.
dpkg: error processing nano (--configure):
