I assume you are running a 2.6.25 kernel, right? For the record, the
same happens here on i386, but only with 2.6.25.5, not with 2.6.24.7.
The Gentoo folks had discovered this already, see [1].
A patch is available from [2], I will try to adopt it to the Debian
package later this evening.
