Package: usplash Version: 0.5.19-1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system
I installed usplash onto kernel 2.6.25-2 In non-quiet mode, the boot process displays messages. The console becomes garbled at the bottom of the screen (looks like white noise) and then then the machine hangs shortly into the boot process. In quite mode, gdm appears not to start and I can not access any virtual terminals. I must force the computer to shutdown.
