Package: g15daemon Version: 1.9.5.3-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders g15macro package unusable
Installing the g15daemon package (required for g15macro) in lenny currently creates a /etc/default/g15daemon file which sets the LCD applet switching switch key to "MR" (Macro Record), instead of the standard L1 key. This renders the related package g15macro largely unusable because the MR keypress is not passed to g15macro, so it is not possible to record a macro (there does not appear to be any provision to change the key used by g15macro to initiate recording). Unless there is some reason I am not aware of that using the default L1 key to switch applets causes a problem (are there some G15 keyboards somewhere that haven't got one?), I would suggest that SWITCH_KEY be either set to L1 or commented out by default in /etc/default/g15daemon. The "-s" argument to g15daemon (used by /etc/init.d/g15daemon when SWITCH_KEY="MR") appears to be present in g15daemon only to allow compatibility with early versions (<1.2), and its use is "not recommended" by g15daemon's author (see g15daemon README), presumably because it conflicts with g15macro and makes key usage inconsistant with Logitech's G15 software for Windows. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages g15daemon depends on: ii libc6 2.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfreetype6 2.3.5-1+b1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libg15-1 1.2.6-1 Library for interfacing with the L ii libg15daemon-client1 1.9.5.3-2 Development packages for libg15dae ii libg15render1 1.2.0.svn250-2 Library for interfacing with the L ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-9 userspace USB programming library ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime Versions of packages g15daemon recommends: ii xkb-data 1.1~cvs.20080104.1-1 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
