Hi all,

I encountered a problem recently on my alpha machine
running Debian testing.

linux-image-2.6.22-3-alpha-generic was failed to boot
if I used initramfs-tools to generate initrd.img but
it booted successfully with initrd.img generated by yaird.

Unfortunately linux-image-2.6.24-1-alpha-generic failed
to boot with both initramfs-tools and yaird.

Anyway I believe yaird is necessary for, at least, alpha
in lenny. I have experienced boot failure many times
with alpha and it is very good to have two options to
generate initrd.img.

Thanks for your consideration.

Regards, 2008-4-2(Wed)
