Package: mayavi Version: 1.5-4 Severity: serious User: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Usertags: origin-ubuntu hardy
Hi Maitland, An Ubuntu user has noted that the mayavi package is not installable when python points to python2.5, because the mayavi postinst calls python2.4 explicitly: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mayavi/+bug/160045 I've had a look at the postinst, and I'm pretty sure it's completely redundant in the face of python-support's (more correct) autogenerated postinst code. I've therefore done an upload to Ubuntu to drop the postinst, which I believe is sufficient; I suggest making the same change to the Debian package. This bug is marked as 'serious' because it's intended that python 2.5 become the default python version for lenny, with the change coming in the next week or so.
