If you had read the original submitter's emails in the bug log [1], you would know that his problem was *not* related to the /usr/bin/gs symlink, but rather having to do with some interaction between ghostscript, gs-esp, and foomatic-filters. [1] in particular, http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=449173#65 as well as Loïc's latest message.
