Also other users report that it works fine on amd64 with glib 2.16.1-2. This is more probably a bug in network-manager, the two patches from glib 2.16.1-1 to -2 only change macros so exchanging glib versions only without recompiling n-m shouldn't make that much of a difference (or the bug is caused by using that macro in glib but then other packages should be affected too). I think this is more a n-m bug, maybe a race condition somewhere...
