   That works; awesome.  Thanks very much!

   Yes, downgrading to libqt3-mt_3.3.7-9 also works but is a little messy, as 
aptitude wants to upgrade libqt3-mt back to 3.3.8b-1, so for upgrades I've 
been letting it do that and manually re-downgrading to libqt3-mt_3.3.7-9.

   Sorry I wasn't able to discover that the bug was actually due to a missing 
symbol in libqt3-mt; after reading the other related bug reports I now know 
how to dig a little further for next time.  ;-)
