This is probably true but we can't really fix install-info in etch for example. So I'd suggest to patch makeinfo so that it produces info files that can be installed by Debian's install-info for at least the lenny cycle. Then we can get back to the "new" way and avoid breakages because the new install-info will be used everywhere. Until then it's best if GNU makeinfo and Debian's install-info are able to work together. > Hope that we will get rid of Debian i-i soon, the patches are already > included upstream.
