Ouch!! What I am wondering is whether Linux provides a way to decrease the flush interval on a per-filesystem level. I can see the problem with synchronous updates and flash technology, but async is just calling for trouble. If it were possible to cause flushing every 10 seconds or so, this would be good. I did not research this further.
