Yes, it is. The old nvidia proprietary driver had no problems with the old X server, but crashes the new one when GL is used. The new nvidia proprietary driver does not exhibit the problem. >Try another 3D acceleration app please, just to be sure. I do not use any, apart from those in xscreensaver-gl. I tried the small demo glxgears.
