Hi,
well, acctually it depends on libgems-ruby1.8 . Do you consider this to be the same as depend on rubygems? Also, I don't know if it will be easy to remove this dependency because mongrel plugin system (libgemplugin-ruby) uses some functions of libgems-ruby1.8. I'n not sure at the moment, but AFAIK only libgemplugin-ruby call methods from libgems-ruby1.8, so maybe this dependency could be dropped from mongrel, but it is needed in libgemplugin-ruby. Otherwise, a plugin library for rubygems without rubygems support would be funny :D filipe On Wed, 17 Oct 2007, Lucas Nussbaum wrote:
Package: mongrel Version: 1.0.1-1 Severity: serious Hi, From what I remember from our rubygems discussions, the conclusion was that the rubygems package was here for users to install packages, not for other packages to use it. However, it's not the case of mongrel: it depends on rubygems. Should we fix mongrel, or change our position on rubygems? -- | Lucas Nussbaum | [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.lucas-nussbaum.net/ | | jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] GPG: 1024D/023B3F4F |
