The fact that guile-1.8-libs (1.8.2+1-2) fails to build on alpha due to a bug in glibc ( http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=442568 ) does not make this an attractive approach to take. > It is a "bad solution" in the long-term Exactly! That is why I am reluctant to implement it. Actually there has been a new upload of texmacs since the bug has been failed. So texmacs users might not even experience the crash now provided they upgrade their guile libraries.
