You can't close a bug if you don't fix it. If it is something that you
don't intend to fix, mark it as "will not fix" but that is not the same
thing as solving the problem.

When libraries drop symbols without bumping the soname, it is a serious
issue. Serious bugs keep packages from entering testing, which is a
good thing.

Please consult the debian-mentors or debian-devel mailing list if you
need help handling this package. Please do not close this bug before
you fix this bug.
