Package: debconf Version: 1.5.14 Severity: critical Justification: breaks unrelated software
It segfaults with frontend Kde. Can't dpkg-reconfigure debconf as that causes a segfault too. Manually changing under /var/cache/debconf/config.dat Name: debconf/frontend Template: debconf/frontend Value: Readline fixes the problem. However, if you don't (know how to) do that, package breakages all over: libc6 fails to upgrade, xserver-xorg got into an unusable state due to segfault during prerm etc. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (10, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-k7 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages debconf depends on: ii debconf-i18n 1.5.14 full internationalization support ii perl-base 5.8.8-11 The Pathologically Eclectic Rubbis Versions of packages debconf recommends: ii apt-utils 0.7.6 APT utility programs -- debconf information: debconf-apt-progress/preparing: debconf-apt-progress/title: debconf-apt-progress/info: debconf-apt-progress/media-change: * debconf/frontend: Kde * debconf/priority: high -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
