Don't you grok that you are not reproducing the bug in the environment reported by every single users ? It's pretty obvious the issue is with utf-8 locales, and you're trying in one that isn't even a multi-byte one. I was pretty dismayed when you sent me a similar answer, I just can't believe that you just handwave a "I can't reproduce it" to every single user that has issues with the last grep release.
