Package: apache2-utils
Version: 2.2.4-3
Severity: normal

I received this error when trying to install apache2, without first
uninstalling thttpd and thttpd-util:

dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/apache2-utils_2.2.4-3_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/bin/htpasswd', which is also in package
 thttpd-util
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)

...

Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/apache2-utils_2.2.4-3_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

According to the list of files, /usr/bin/htpasswd and
/usr/share/man/man1/htpasswd.1.gz are in apache2-utils, thttpd-util,
mini-httpd.

The mini-httpd package adds a diversion (Adding `diversion of
/usr/bin/htpasswd to /usr/bin/htpasswd.apache2-utils by mini-httpd'), so
installs properly.

Apache2-utils and thttpd-util fail to install over each other, with
errors similar to those noted above. I can install either if I remove
the other first, of course.

Possibly a diversion or package conflict might fix things?

My apologies in advance if anything above is unclear, I don't file many
bugs on Debian things.
