  Ew.  That suggests you have a different problem than the EINTR bug.

  I don't know any reason that 0.4.6 would fail before you installed a
pile of random updates, and work afterwards.  I suspect there may be
more than one bug here, but I'll have to collect user reports to find
out what's happening.

  Either that or you have gremlins. :-)
