apt-file search is our friend. Apparently, the following B-D are missing (and containing): libgconf2.0-cil (usr/lib/pkgconfig/gconf-sharp-2.0.pc) libglade2.0-cil (usr/lib/pkgconfig/glade-sharp-2.0.pc) The build doesn't halt anymore once these packages are installed.
