I thought I solved this problem last month, but it just popped up again :( The problem was caused by one of the GNAT.Expect.Expect procedures, used when launching the underlying compiler. The package GNAT.Expect is part of GNAT, not GPS, but GPS contains a modified copy of it. The original (GNAT 3.15p) caused the crash, and the copy from GPS didn't. Now, the crash occurs even with the copy that came with GPS (I verified that it is indeed compiled into the gnat-gps executable). I need to investigate further. gnat-gps 2.1.0-2 did not have the problem. The only difference between it and -3 is a recompile (see the changelog). I am confused. Note also that, by my book, any crash of the X server is a bug in the X server. I will file another bug report against xserver-xfree86. I appreciate any help in investigating this problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.27-2-686 Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages gnat-gps depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglib2.0-0 2.6.1-3 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnat-3.15p-1 3.15p-12 The GNU Ada 95 compiler runtime li ii libgtk2.0-0 2.4.14-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libgtkada-2.4 2.4.0-3 Ada binding for the GTK library ii libpango1.0-0 1.6.0-3 Layout and rendering of internatio ii python2.3 2.3.4-19 An interactive high-level object-o -- no debconf information --------------------------------------- Received: (at 297980-close) by bugs.debian.org; 3 May 2005 05:57:03 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon May 02 22:57:03 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from newraff.debian.org [208.185.25.31] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1DSqP1-0004yh-00; Mon, 02 May 2005 22:57:03 -0700 Received: from katie by newraff.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1DSqFd-0002Ys-00; Tue, 03 May 2005 01:47:21 -0400 From: Ludovic Brenta <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.55 $ Subject: Bug#297980: fixed in gnat-gps 2.1.0-4 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Archive Administrator <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue, 03 May 2005 01:47:21 -0400 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 X-Spam-Level: Source: gnat-gps Source-Version: 2.1.0-4 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of gnat-gps, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: gnat-gps-doc_2.1.0-4_all.deb to pool/main/g/gnat-gps/gnat-gps-doc_2.1.0-4_all.deb gnat-gps_2.1.0-4.diff.gz to pool/main/g/gnat-gps/gnat-gps_2.1.0-4.diff.gz gnat-gps_2.1.0-4.dsc to pool/main/g/gnat-gps/gnat-gps_2.1.0-4.dsc gnat-gps_2.1.0-4_i386.deb to pool/main/g/gnat-gps/gnat-gps_2.1.0-4_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
