Package: curl
Version: 7.16.2-5
Severity: serious
Having consistent so-names as defined by upstream on different
distributions has the advantage for users of creating some binary
compatibility between different distributions. If Debian starts
to diverge from upstream so-names this becomes much harder.
Workarounds for limitations in your release process shouldn't be considered
more important than section 4 of the Debian social contract.

Where is this symlink you are talking about?
The current packages seem to make the testing scripts and release
managers happy but not the testing users...

Sorry, my fault. apt refused to even download the current libcurl
packages, and I only lookad at the source package resulting in false
conclusions.
Closing this bug.
