Package: wxwidgets2.5
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

To stem the tide of well wishers and make it clear to everyone
just what the story is with these packages (that should never
have been moved out of experimental if it had been building all
platforms):

wx2.6 has ostensibly been tagged for release. That makes these
packages more or less instantly obsolete -- this bug will be
forwarded to ftp-admin recommending their removal as soon as
the wx2.6 packages have been accepted into the archive.

These packages interfere with installation and use of the stable
(and otherwise unrelated) wx2.4 packages in testing. If anyone
has anything more serious than that to report, please 'can it'
until you have the same problem with wx2.6. This horse has been
scratched. Upstream bugs should be reported upstream.

The 'real' release of wx2.6 will not occur until Robin and his
team have run wxPython through their release testing process.
This may take some time.

Anyone posting a followup bug here to tell me that wx2.6 has been
'announced' weeks ago will void their right to be considered a
'user' of this software that is entitled to support. If you
are actually using it, there is no excuse not to be aware of
these things. See above.

Thanks again to all the rest of you with tireless patience.
We'll have it out and here as soon as humanly possible.

  Ron
