Package: rubber
Version: 1.1-2
Severity: serious
When I build rubber under pbuilder, the resulting package has no dependency on
python as the "official" package does. This is in turn causing derivations to
fail to build on my pbuildd setup with:
...
cd tex ; /usr/bin/make derivations.ps
make[2]: Entering directory `/tmp/buildd/derivations-0.4.20060920/tex'
rubber main.tex
/bin/bash: /usr/bin/rubber: /usr/bin/python: bad interpreter: No such file or
directory
make[2]: *** [derivations.dvi] Error 126
make[2]: Leaving directory `/tmp/buildd/derivations-0.4.20060920/tex'
make[1]: *** [derivations.ps] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/buildd/derivations-0.4.20060920'
make: *** [build-stamp] Error 2

Description:
rubber - an automated system for building LaTeX documents
Closes: 425078
Changes:
rubber (1.1-2.1) unstable; urgency=low
.
* Non-maintainer upload.
.
* Fix RC bug "Rebuilding from source yields a package without a dependency
on python" (closes: #425078). Changes needed:
+ the package has only private modules, so it's not necessary to use
python-support or python-central: depend directly on python instead.
+ remove debian/compat, the call to dh_python in debian/rules, and the
XB-Python-Version header from debian/control.
+ do not build-depend-indep on python-dev, but only on python.
.
* Swap the order of the tetex-bin | texlive-latex-base dependency.
