Sorry, I guess I uploaded the wrong base.tgz.  I'm uploading the straight 
pbuilder base.tgz now, which is about 61MB.

It does.  The md5sum of slony.xml is bbea0ddea52f26ad965125b5d6c2720d.  Also, 
I specifically forced base64 encoding of those files to try to avoid 
reencoding issues.
