hdbc build-depends on ghc6 (>= 6.6), ghc6 (<< 6.6-999), which is not satisfiable in sid at the moment (ghc6 is 6.6.1-2). By ignoring this conflict and adding libghc6-mtl-dev to the build-deps, I was able to build the package.
